How can we help?

Ashburton was founded in order to provide GPs with a pharmacist service designed with their specific needs in mind. Our Pharmacists will assist with improving the prescribing in your practice, whilst providing relief and assistance to your practice team.

We work with practices on both a short and long term basis. We believe it is a testament to the quality and efficiency of our pharmacists that to this day, practices continue to pay for our services directly. Our pharmacists remain employed by Ashburton, but will integrate themselves into your practice team.

What can an Ashburton pharmacist do?

  • Repeat prescription signing (Prescribers only)
  • Prescription queries
  • Medicines reconciliation (documents)
  • F2F and telephone appointments with patients
  • Medication reviews (SMR, Polypharmacy, Note, F2F and phone)

This list is not exhaustive, but we have honed our service offering over the years to create what we have found to be the most effective use of pharmacist time in general practice.

    The majority of practices we work with hold long standing contracts with Ashburton. However, we do offer short term arrangements to practices for things such as maternity cover, long term absence, and short term funding (e.g. winter pressures funding)
